About the project and business

Our client is a holistic fintech ecosystem, presented in 13 countries and included web platforms, mobile applications, websites, ATMs interfaces, and marketing assets. They needed to improve their UX within all these platforms and add new functionality to their product.

Development objectives and challenges

The biggest challenge lay in the complexity of the project, as we had to conduct hours of research, dozens of interviews with employees globally, and tough discussions with the IT department. Also, we had to align to the highest standards of security and compliance for all bank’s customers – private clients, institutional clients, and business owners. 

After a research phase, we reviewed a self-service portal for bank customers to ensure they can manage online their finances, accounts, reports, and bookkeeping, without any help from bank employees. 

Since there was a problem integrating NFC Wallet that included both Apple and Google Pay for some regions, we decided to build an analog of e-wallets inside the ProCredit mobile app. As a result, users can add cards to their wallets, manage them there, as well as pay in terminals using a mobile phone.

Also, we developed a Template builder tool for ProCredit bank managers globally based on a common database and guidelines. It helps keep all materials in one place and create marketing materials in a fast, flexible, and consistent manner.

DNA Payments Group is a leading omnichannel payments company in the UK and EU, serving over 65,000 merchants with cutting-edge payment solutions. The group includes nine companies, with offices in London, Kent, Hull, Manchester, and Oxford, as well as remote and field teams. 

We had to conduct a UX audit of the client’s platform to create an onboarding process that is quick, easy, and clear for the users. Also, we needed to build a mobile version of the platform to prevent users from being attached to their laptops at crucial moments. Then, after a comprehensive UX audit, our team had to redesign the current platform and build the missing points to provide a seamless user experience across desktop and mobile devices.

Our team started with thorough desk research to learn the project's domain and understand its field comprehensively. Next, we conducted interviews with key stakeholders to gain deeper insights into the portal and business. These interviews helped us understand common use cases and the specific needs and expectations of those involved with the project. Building on the wireframes and adhering to the platform’s visual guidelines, we created the visual design, starting with the desktop version. Given that most users accessed the platform through laptops, we prioritized this design first before moving on to the mobile version.

As a result of our cooperation, the client got a comprehensive UX audit and UX & UI redesign for their DNA payments platform (both web and mobile), based on the audit. We simplified and improved the onboarding process for the new users to make it fast, easy, and clear.

Our client, a US oil and energy company with 10K employees, wanted a custom AI-powered human capital management solution. It needed to:

The solution should support HR managers and employees, featuring gamification, achievements, IoT tracking, and surveys. 

The project was complex. Artkai's main tasks were to define the product vision and objectives, prepare requirements, and create a roadmap with prioritized features. We developed and released an MVP of the HR platform with core AI-powered features. Then, we gathered feedback from employees and managers. After that, our team scaled and improved the MVP based on the feedback.

The project lasted 6 months for discovery & design phase and 9 months for development and testing.

We selected a microservices architecture to optimize app performance, maintenance, and costs. Most services were built with Node.js/Nest.js, while AI-related services used Python for its power and robustness. We utilized cloud services like AWS Lambda, AWS S3, and AWS Elemental MediaConvert, and chose Amazon RDS and Amazon MQ for data storage.

The platform includes a public web UI for users without the mobile app and a web-based content management tool for the back office. We selected React for these web apps, with Next.js for server-side rendering to ensure SEO-friendly public content. This combination ensures the development of stable, fast, and engaging web apps.

It took us 10 months to build a solid MVP of an HR platform for our client. Currently, thousands of employees at Quantum Energy are testing it. Cruitment is a SaaS platform designed to manage career pages and candidate pipelines for each job. Research showed that this concept has often been used to scam people. Therefore, one of our key tasks was to relaunch the existing market with new technology, creating a user-centric, reliable system that people can trust and benefit from.

Artkai's main tasks were to create a new visual identity for the brand and to build a SaaS platform with two separate user flows: one for recruiters and one for candidates, each designed to address their specific needs.

The project took 2.5 months for research and design and 6 months for development and QA. We built the app based on user needs, closely collaborating with stakeholders.

Artkai’s team needed to design and develop an advertising platform for AR & VR native ads that is user-friendly for all proficiency levels. Also, we had to improve and redesign the marketing website to make it mobile-friendly.

Advertisers had to deal with each site separately. Managers manually filled a client database and used random services for communication and task tracking. Plus, pricing for ads was unclear.

Artkai's task was to create a solution that could unite advertising platforms, manage money withdrawals, and streamline document processing. Bottlebits is a global digital community where members can acquire Drams of rare whisky bottles. A "Dram" is a single serving of whisky, typically 5ml. Each Dram grants users access to a digital bottle they can collect and share with friends in their digital bar. This platform offers real-life analogs of Drams, which can be held as non-fungible tokens or exchanged for actual whisky.

Our team had to build a marketplace that combines best practices from the traditional offline industry and innovative blockchain platform. The biggest challenge was to transform the offline model of collecting and consuming physical products into a unique digital experience. 

The project took 3 months for research and design and 6 months for development and QA. 

Artkai developed a unique "Dramification" feature that enables users to purchase 'Drams' of rare whisky bottles. The Beta launch of the platform proved that traditional offline industries could be easily digitized and bring many benefits to businesses. Users' active growth confirmed this fact and opened the conversation with investors. In numbers, 16,500+ users got access to Beta-version and 4,000+ unique drams were sold through the platform. Posting inventory on multiple online marketplaces is tedious and time-consuming, taking up to 30 hours per week for sellers.

Our solution, the eCommerce Manager (eCM), simplifies this process. It allows sellers to manage listings across multiple platforms from one place, saving them time and effort.

Designed for sellers with ever-changing stock, the eCM supports 19 different marketplaces, making stock management easy both online and offline.

Our task was to develop a fresh visual identity and marketing website for the brand. We also built a new inventory and multi-marketplace management platform from scratch. It's user-friendly for both sellers and buyers, catering to their specific needs.

The project took 4.5 months for research and design and 10 months for development and QA. 

During our research, we focused on understanding our client's goals and user habits. We found key pain points like difficulty finding lost items and manual inventory management for dealers.
