About
the business
Our client has an enterprise IT company located in the USA. They provide high-quality healthcare solutions. One of those solutions is hospital management system Medivus used by numerous clinics across the states. That HMS was built long time ago and by now its tech stack and features got outdated.
Our client required a team able to perform technical audit of their HMS and then redesign and modernize it. Having huge experience in digital product modernization, we took this project and helped our client to make their hospital management system more modern, competitive and user-friendly.

The client's existing HMS solution was outdated and faced several critical issues influencing its performance and user experience:
- User Interface: The system had a clunky, non-intuitive interface that frustrated users and led to inefficiencies.
- Data Management: Poor integration with modern EMR systems resulted in data silos and delayed access to critical patient information.
- Scalability: The old system struggled to handle increasing data volumes and user loads, leading to slow performance.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with the latest healthcare regulations was cumbersome due to the system's limited capabilities.
- Mobile Accessibility: The lack of mobile support hindered staff from accessing and updating information on-the-go.
Taking into account all these issues, we set the following project tasks:

Patient Registration & Admission
We added simple and fast patient onboarding with quick registration, efficient admission and discharge processes that helped to minimize wait times.
Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
System has a centralized repository for patient medical history with secure, role-based access for authorized personnel. There is also an integration with lab results and diagnostic imaging.
Scheduling & Appointment Management
Medivus offers online booking with real-time Google Calendar synchronization and can send automated appointment reminders to reduce no-shows.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Management
We integrated automated billing and invoicing processes, insurance claims management and advanced financial reporting for revenue tracking and analysis.
Pharmacy Management
There is a feature allowing to perform inventory control and medication dispensing. We ensured medication history accuracy and easy prescription management with refill tracking.
Preventive Maintenance & Asset Management
The platform has automated scheduling for maintenance of hospital equipment, real-time asset tracking and management, and mobile capabilities for on-the-go updates and inventory control.

APP FUNCTIONS
Patient Registration & Admission
Our client wanted to add new patient registration and admission feature able to streamline the entire onboarding process, making it simple and efficient for both patients and healthcare staff.
This feature facilitates quick registration, smooth admission, and efficient discharge processes, significantly reducing wait times and enhancing the overall patient experience.
The system provides a user-friendly interface for registering new patients, allowing staff to enter patient information quickly and accurately. Patients can also pre-register online via a secure portal, reducing the need for on-site paperwork.
The system checks patient details against existing records to prevent duplication and ensures all necessary consent forms are completed electronically. Integration with the EHR system allows for the seamless transfer of patient information to the relevant departments.
Discharge processes are expedited with automated discharge summaries and billing procedures. The system ensures that all necessary discharge documentation is completed and that patients receive clear instructions for follow-up care.
The feature supports multiple languages, ensuring that patients of diverse backgrounds can easily navigate the registration and admission process.

We integrated this feature to offer healthcare providers comprehensive tools for managing client information, maintaining detailed treatment histories, and ensuring consistent documentation practices.
Medivus maintains comprehensive client profiles that include personal information, medical history, treatment plans, and previous consultations. Profiles are easily accessible and can be updated in real-time, ensuring that healthcare providers have the most current information.
Built-in secure messaging allows healthcare providers to communicate with clients directly through the platform. Providers can share updates, reminders, and follow-up instructions with clients. All client data is stored securely with robust encryption protocols, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
The system includes built-in templates for SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) notes. The notes are integrated into the client's profile, allowing for easy reference during future consultations.
Medivus automates various documentation tasks, such as generating treatment summaries and progress reports, reducing the administrative burden on healthcare providers. It also includes reporting tools that allow providers to generate customized reports on client outcomes, treatment efficiency, and documentation practices.
All clients can access their treatment history, appointment schedules, and care instructions through a secure portal.
