About the business

Bottlebits is a digital platform-based community that empowers members worldwide to acquire Drams of rare curated bottles of whisky. A “Dram” is a colloquial expression for a single serving of whisky, usually 5ml. By owning a Dram, users get exclusive access to a digital bottle, which they can collect and share with their friends through their digital bar.

The platform is truly unique as there are real-life analogs of Drams, which can be either kept as non-fungible tokens or exchanged into actual liquids.

Platform features

The platform has self-invented unique structure of acquiring and collecting whisky, which is called “Dramification”. It gives users around the world the opportunity to easily buy ‘’Drams’’ of rare and sought-after bottles. The collection is carefully selected by in-house industry experts and sourced from established, reliable sources.

Though users can follow their own interests and experience the platform in a unique way, the journey is based on the four main stages:

eBar & eBottle
Visualization of the storage for purchased drams and bottles with an opportunity to contact digital twins of the bottles. Providing information related to testing notes, factsheets, and stories

NFTs
Management of NFTs minting and distribution between the users. Each fraction of each of the bottles is supplied with a unique NFT

Marketplace
Support of brand pages and providing opportunities for brands to administrate dedicated parts of the marketplace

Payments
Seamless wallets connection with the opportunity to pay in cryptocurrency

Platform features

Though users can follow their own interests and experience the platform in a unique way, the journey is based on the four main stages:

Introduction
User gets a tour through the collection of bottles

Online purchase
User buys a dram of the bottles that wants to collect and experience.

Experience
User explores bottles, shares them, grows own collection and constantly gets learning materials.

Culmination
At the final point, users choose the way to interact with Drams. There are three ways: to sell back, drink Dram through the platform or collect all Drams and exchange them for a bottle.

As Bottlebits is a community-based platform, it's built on the principle of responsibility to its members and the world in a general sense.
The idea of NFT Drams refers to the purpose of serving as an educational gateway to learning about quality versus quantity.
The digital trading process requires minimal physical movement of bottles, thus reducing the business's carbon footprint.

OUTCOME

Outcome

The initial, Beta launch of the platform proved that competent digitalization of traditional offline industries could bring many benefits to the table. Users' active growth confirmed the concept and opened the conversation with investors. The nearest plans are to raise the next round of investments and launch the "Drink the Dram" experience, which will be held at a special location for members to join, either in-person or from home.
